Simple Green Protein Smoothie To protein or not to protein, that is the question. OK, so maybe that’s not THE question but it’s one that I get asked often by family and friends when it comes to post workout drinks. It can be a very controversial topic so I want to be clear that I am sharing my own opinion of what I have learned and what I know to be best for myself.

Personally, I enjoy a post workout protein drink, it has shown to improve my recovery time and also gives me the energy I need after a tiring training session (not mention they are delicious). So when it comes to recommending them to friends and family, I say yes. But, that recommendation comes with a big BUT. My largest hang up when it comes to protein drinks is the source of that protein, as in, what kind of protein powder are you using. READ MORE

Who couldn’t use an extra boost of immunity in their day?

With two toddlers in preschool, we are always
looking for a way to kick up the immune system, especially with cold season approaching quickly. Parents, let’s face it, it’s hard to get the kids to eat all of the healthy foods necessary to keep their immune systems strong. And we all know it’s basically impossible keep them away from germs, so we wanted to find a way to give them the nutrients they need, in a form they love, that keeps them happy and healthy. (Bonus- this recipe is great for parents and non parents as well. It’s not kid specific, they just happen to love it.) Coffee PBB

Coffee PBB SmoothieI’m very excited to be sharing this recipe with all of you today because it is a staple around our house. I’m not exaggerating when I say we have it at least 3 times a week. 

We are coffee drinkers through and through but, this doesn’t mean that we discriminate against other beverages. I like to think of us as equal opportunity drinkers with water being our number one beverage of choice, coffee is second on the list and tea is a close third. BUT raising 2 toddlers, running a small business, waking up at 4 am daily and all of the tasks, errands, and sleepless night in between usually call for a nice morning cup of joe. The funny thing is, as much as I love coffee and claim to have “a cup” in the morning, I have been dubbed by my loving husband, “half cup” because I ALWAYS seem to leave a half full cup of coffee lying around some where before we head downstairs for our 6 am workouts.
