If the term mobility is new to you, you are not alone. Up until a year ago, I was also in the dark on this topic. However, after being introduced to this concept, it is now a staple in my daily routine. My goal today is to take a closer look and break down what mobility training is, why it is such an important part of routine, and when to incorporate into your Sustainable Training program. READ MORE
One of my favorite go-to chicken salads that is packed full of health and flavor!
At SET Lifestyle, we like to take care of our bodies with not only what we eat but also how we train, or workout. Taking care of ourselves inside and out is an important part of the S and the T in our name, Sustain and Thrive. The term we use for the type of training that we
do is called Sustainable Training. You may be wondering what this means or how you, too, can implement the techniques of Sustainable Training into your life. Well then, today is your lucky day because I am going to break it all down and further explain this concept.
Who couldn’t use an extra boost of immunity in their day?
With two toddlers in preschool, we are always
looking for a way to kick up the immune system, especially with cold season approaching quickly. Parents, let’s face it, it’s hard to get the kids to eat all of the healthy foods necessary to keep their immune systems strong. And we all know it’s basically impossible keep them away from germs, so we wanted to find a way to give them the nutrients they need, in a form they love, that keeps them happy and healthy. (Bonus- this recipe is great for parents and non parents as well. It’s not kid specific, they just happen to love it.) In other words, this smoothie was discovered out of necessity in an attempt to keep everyone in the house cold free. READ MORE
Looking for something to do with all of those tomatoes from the garden? This recipe is just the thing!
Both my father and grandfather in-law have gardens that they have been cultivating year and year for as long as my husband can remember. Though the gardens have gotten smaller as the years have gone by, they are still both going strong. It’s wonderful to be able to benefit from home grown food without having the time or space to be able to do it myself (I’ll stick to my herb garden for now). But since they both have healthy gardens and a small family, we all get an abundant amount of tomatoes come harvest time. It’s wonderful but this year I found myself trying to figure out an easy, tasty way to consume these delicious red veggies so I decided to make a simple, easy salad that highlighted the nutrition and taste of home grown goodness. I am also a lover of vinegar so I had to be sure to add that in and the result was a great salad that we love!
I’m very excited to be sharing this recipe with all of you today because it is a staple around our house. I’m not exaggerating when I say we have it at least 3 times a week.
We are coffee drinkers through and through but, this doesn’t mean that we discriminate against other beverages. I like to think of us as equal opportunity drinkers with water being our number one beverage of choice, coffee is second on the list and tea is a close third. BUT raising 2 toddlers, running a small business, waking up at 4 am daily and all of the tasks, errands, and sleepless night in between usually call for a nice morning cup of joe. The funny thing is, as much as I love coffee and claim to have “a cup” in the morning, I have been dubbed by my loving husband, “half cup” because I ALWAYS seem to leave a half full cup of coffee lying around some where before we head downstairs for our 6 am workouts.
Fall is almost here and I find myself doing a little happy dance in celebration of my favorite season. Boots, sweaters, football, falling leaves, bonfires, pumpkin everything, chili… I could go on and on. Not to mention some birthdays of my favorite people and a few holidays worth getting excited about. I know some of you may think I’m going a little overboard on the fall excitement but I also know some of you are right there with me getting stoked about some pumpkin spice lattes, amiright?
